I was visiting the smallest church thrift store that I frequent, when I spotted this Aventurine beauty. It had been in the store for about a month so I decided to pull the trigger on the purchase. This piece wouldn't have lasted a day in the large thrifts I go to. This Verifies the need to hit the small stores. The only thing missing is the label. My research points to this being a Barbini, but I could use some expert opinion on that. Thanks for stopping by.
7" wide
2 1/2" tall
The colours are gorgeous!
Thank you Celiene for the "Love it" click.
Thanks to Sklo42 for the comment. The Gold tones really pop, it can't possibly be mica. Maybe I should crack it open and mine the Gold....just kidding! lol. Thanks again.
Looks like a good one to me Rick! My Murano knowledge is not good and if you suspect Barbini it probably is.
My favorite op shop is a little church store, only open 3 mornings a week, but the best shop there is.
BINGO !! Looks good to me Deano!! I would say Murano -- and Barbini as to the maker. Very good find. Much like one I posted with the aventurine and note the white edge in the rim in mine, as yours also has.

Thanks Karen and Rose. The thrift store is only open on Saturdays from 9-1. I'd meant to get back there sooner, but with the surgery, I hadn't been able to. I was fairly surprised it was still there. Good for me! I took a look at the one you have Rose. Not much doubt they are from the same furnace, nearly identical. Thanks for the link.
Thank you Celiene, Racer4four, Antiquerose, Melaniej, Caperkid and Swfinluv1 for the "Love it" clicks. Groovy.

Definitely Murano Deano and a great piece at that! The exterior is gold aventurine whereas the interior is copper. Although Barbini typically used gold aventurine on his bowls, I've also seen him use copper. Additionally, this is a shape he used, so it very well could be his. Here are a couple of Barbini bowls - one with copper aventurine inside like yours and the other with the same form.
