Mystery chair

My grandparents moved into a house in the early 60's and this was the only item left by the previous owner. There were stories of the chair rocking by itself, but thought it was just to scare me. The chair was eventually removed from the house and placed on a hayloft in the barn for many years until my grandmother gave it to me with the condition that if I ever got rid of it, i had to burn it. I know its a North Wind, but not sure of the age. looks to be hand carved, but i'm no expert.
