    Hello,
This will be brief. I inherited this ring along with the speculation of it being a very old example from the Ottoman Empire, or from the Middle-East somewhere. I'm not a collector or jewelry/antique expert, and am interested in discovering any history or other interesting information about this ring out of personal curiosity. Thank you all for any insight offered!

      Interesting mystery!
The band wears cuneiform writing, while the "stone" has asian/chinese characters!

What a fabulously interesting handmade ring! Take it to someone who can test the metal. Ottoman jewelry often uses gold as an accent point, but sometimes the gold content is only 2%. In the photos, it looks like brass. Turkey is a Eurasian country, so if this ring is of Turkish origin then maybe that might explain the characters.

I wish I could hold that ring in my hands and examine it...how exciting!
