Hello Fellow Collectors. I just acquired this and it's a little rough around the edges, as we would say. Missing the second hand and the luminous hands are cracking and crumbling away, but with a little TLC and a few hours, this will be a great piece.
For those that don't know who this is. Dan Dare was a big hit in the United Kingdom. This is his arch-enemy The Mekon. Can't have a Hero without a bad guy, lol. These guys were featured by Eagle Comics in the 1950's.
This watch was made by Anglo-Celtic Watch Co. (Ingersoll LTD) in Great Britain.
Thanks for looking,
Kerry
Thank you Caperkid :-)

Very cool! I'm certain that it will be pristine when you finish putting your magic touch on it.
It will revive under your hand :-), waiting to see it updated with your repairs!

Thanks again all, very appreciated!!
Thanks Rick & Kevin, always appreciated :-)
Thank You WARWAGON64, very appreciated
Let me know if original when you get it. All of the ones I have seen were fantasy pieces.
Will do Adam, both me and George discussed the posting when listed, after looking at it heavily, decided better than 80% chance, lol. I'm hoping an original piece, was a reputable seller so fingers crossed.
Thank you:
WARWAGON64, Sean & Adam for stopping by
your very welcome Kerry!!
Have you seen the person on Etsy from the U.K. that sells the fantasy Smiths/Ingersoll watches? Have you ever bought any? I am curious about the quality. There are a couple that I like, but I'm afraid the pictures may make them look nicer than they actually are. Their prices are somewhat reasonable for them.
No never bought any, but have browse the site, would like to see one myself some are pretty interesting
This one here, the red leading edge in photos is clean overlap, hoping metal dial and dots are luminous and not a scan, lol
I hope so. Either way, it's cool.
Adam agreed lol, but if you blow up the photos, looks like painted metal dial, which is correct, any chips shown or wear through all look normal
Adam, again fingers crossed, but will add to shelf either way, lol
The only thing that concerned me was the jagged edges on the triangles.
I like the Batman watch the other person sells with the Animated Penguin. Pretty cool!
Yep. My fingers crossed for you too!
Thank you AnnaB for looking and loving this, very appreciated!!
