I bought this box for $2 at a thrift store today(yes, I did a happy dance)...it's about 6x4x3 (inches) and weights a little over a pound with interior removed. I cannot find any info about the box and you would think it wouldn't be that hard. There are two marks one for the silver and the longer one, I am not sure what that one says, even with a loop. Any info would be fantastic. When it was made? Is it Art Deco? Where can I find additional info?
FIRST OFF , You do have something very very valuable and it is made out of sterling silver which is a great plus!!!!

Thanks, Sean68!
Your very welcome gigimcgui !! and welcome to cw!!
i have very good memories of shopping there w/ my mom when i was little. [we were pretty wealthy for a few years] what a beautiful store and decorations! 5th ave experience in all it's glory!
Thank you, Sean68! Ho2cultcha, being from the NYC metro area, I too have many memories of Bergdorfs. So, I snatched it up when I saw the name, and you would think because of name recognition alone it would be fairly easy to find info on the web for the box...but I haven't found anything other than sterling pill boxes. I think it's European made because the measurements are exact in centimeters, where as in inches, it's off. Which is why I am curious what the second mark says...maybe the makers mark? Thanks to all for liking my find!
can we get a close up of the markers mark of the of whom made the silver box!! ive bought some fragrance from there website once but never been in there store , it always been a dream of mine to win a shopping spree at Bergdorf's!!
just amazing!!
Wonderful thrift store find!
Can I go shopping with you? lol
Sean68, I cannot get a better photo than the one above. :( Thanks, melaniej! I love auctions, flea markets, rummage sale and thrift stores. I have had some extraordinary good luck too, so much luck, my husband is sport about it! :-)
