I have had this phone since I was in my teens. Until now I have never researched it.
This was Made by S.H. Couch in 1913 and was called the Yankee Wall set. These were used for distances under 2,000 feet.
While one would have a large wood telephone in the home A H Couch Co was making these small telephones which were used in industry, hotels, apartment buildings and even elevators.
Ever notice how these old phones seem to have faces?
Thank you ttomtucker for IDing the phone and additional information.
Goofy faces too...
It really does seem to have a face. Never really thought about that before.

Your intercom manufactured by S.H. Couch was produced in 1913. It was called the Yankee wall set. "Yankee phones provided quick and economical communications between to points not more than 2000 feet distance". Samuel Henry Couch founded his company in Norfolk Downs, Mass in 1901
