Hi all who are enthousiast about my kyratisation :-)
Do you remember the bug I posted before which was lacking it's brooch system ?
I said I'll have a restore try...
This was a long project!
I had an old C clasp, tube hinge brooch of little interest, wanting to saw the findings to keep them intact, I waited for the saw ordered for one month...
Sawing was quickly done, I settled for soldering, guess what... the torch didn't work anymore!
Had to wait another week to get one :-(
On pic #3 ou can see all my settlement : a half potato to hold the bug and protect glass from heat, a pinch held closed by a rubber band, then held with a strong pinch.
Book, boxes under, to adapt position...
"Solder-it" paste put on with a thin pin, beeing careful it won't block hinge...
Et voilà !
It took near an hour, lol! Installation was rather Mc Giver-ish, but I'm very pleased with my project beeing achieved !

Wow!! You really went thru a lot for this one. But, the results are incredible as always!! Just awesome!! It just goes to show that patience pay off in the end! I love all of your fine little insect friends...

Ha Nutsabotas! I had so much struggling with my potato, pinches, slippery rubber band and shivering hands from anger against the whole mess, not to say about bad words I shout when it goes wrong...
I don't think it would be educational, except if you want to learn how to pronounce holly shit in French, lol!

Merde!! I'd watch that video! It would be more fun than the cleaned-up ones other people post! We all have frustrations - it would be nice to see a REAL craft woman at work, bad words, McGiver inventions and all!
=) Manikin! And... What a waste... The first half potato dried while I was waitin to receive my new torch, had to bin it Grrr! :-D

I watched one of a man (rather old...) who took 23 minutes to show (shake?) how to cover 9 sawed stones with different coatings! Aaargh...
LOL- was the video old, or the man? or both?? He was probably dry and dull. Somehow I think you would never be dry OR dull! I love your descriptions of your work.

Hello Kyratango. It has worked out great! I have been thinking about repairing some jewelry with silver clay...you just have to bake the jewelry piece after applying the silverclay...will have a look into it and let you know if I d something with it :-)

The potato is for keeping the piece in convenient position and to prevent damage to the stones from heating!
It is a sacrified one... I won't cook it more, eventually re-use if another solder to do within hours :-D
