This is one of the best finds I have ever made to date. The wife and myself were cruising thru our normal thrift and antique shop Thursdays. I noticed these in a display cabinet. I asked to see them as they just had a real gold look to them as opposed to that fake gold look you get with some costume jewelry. They felt heavy in my hand and I decided to purchase them for the sale price $ not gonna disclose that. Anyway on the ride home my wife was looking at them and noticed a patent number on the screwback portion of the earrings. When we got home she started to research the patent #. Low and behold the patent number belonged to the then Vice president of Cartier! Holy Sh*t I shouted when she showed me the page! I love going thru the stores on what I like to think of as a treasure hunt. Anyway they came from the 1940s and are so large heavy and cumbersome. The Leafs on the flower have a Blue enamel on them and the center leafs spin creating a 3d appearance the center post of the flower is jade. They were really neat earrings for my grandmother, lol the wife wouldn't touch them.
Hope everyone's New Year has gone great!
can we see more pictures please and of the makers mark?
Yes please more photos! LOL I'd wear them!
Very nice find ! and nice to met you .
...and the location of the thrift store, too! The ones in my area are waaay overpriced =)))
Thanks for the love here guys, Gals. Ill post some more picks when I find the earrings. I live in the DC metro area, therefore I can go to and endless number of thrift shops, antique stores and some amazing flea markets. We have done our little treasure hunts from our MD home, then I can be in DC, PA, Va, De and west Virginia within a hour. Just have to get motivated and get myself and the wife out the door. I bought 2 really nice paintings yesterday. I will get them on here eventually. Hope everyone is safe and doing well!
Thanks Nicefice
