I purchased these chairs just recently because of the beautiful rich mahogany they were made from. Supposedly from the 1870's with a quality reupholstering in the last 50 years. From my on-line efforts they appear to be some sort of campaign style chair but very heavy to move around. If anyone has any ideas of their purpose besides being stunners to view please let me know.
