Printed on this item is "Stanley Works Corp." and "Made in the U.S.A."
Without the handle, it measures 2 1/4", and the diameter is 1"
End to end with the handle unfolded it measures 3 3/4"
It appears to be designed to grasp rope or wire, and when the inner section pulls out, three ball bearings spread apart to allow wire or rope to go through. When the inner section is released, it springs back to it's original position creating tension on whatever was pulled through it.
I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this item - it's name, weather or not I'm correct in my assessment of it, it's use, when it was manufactured, etc.. Thank you
