I recently purchased this Automatic Electric Monophone, model 1A. From years 1930's ~ 1940's.
It was in need of some restoration. Not too bad though. I had to replace handset, inside was missing pieces. Dial would get stuck and would need a good cleaning and light lube. Came with the original cords and a terminal block. Lucky I had a VERY good condition replacement handset in my parts box(s). The rubber base plate ring was missing. Replaced with a new replacement one. Touched up worn out name tag. Waxed finish with a good cleaner polish wax.
I enjoy the end results.
Nice job of restoring, I agree with you, most cases all they need is a good cleaning
It is like day and night with just cleaning!
That's a beauty!
