My mom gave me this lamp when I was a kid for my room. I have always been fascinated by it I'm not sure why but I have tried different shades on it over the years. My mom said it was something her grandmother had owned. I have a tan, bell shaped shade on it now, but I was wondering what shade it might have had before. She didn't know. The one she remembers was plain, red cloth. On the bottom, it looks as though someone removed the original metal bracket and put in a newer one to attach the newer light fixture. There seems to only be half of the original left but it has no markings on it. The bottom of the pottery is unmarked as well. I remember trying to clean the metal, but it is just that color I guess because it never got shiny or anything. Does anyone know what kind of shade ought to be best on it? The tan one is boring and red doesn't go with anything in my living room. I was thinking of trying to get a Tiffany-style shade, but I don't think it's the right era. Suggestions?
