I would like to know the history of this clock. Made with walnut measurements are 18 by 18 I also got this in San Antonio Texas

Underneath the clock is a shelf I apologize if it looks like it's part of the clock
Apparently Shaw's is still in business. Have you tried contacting them? I think that's where I would start researching for the history of this piece.
