Does anyone know what this utensil is used for. The spoon part looks more like a little scoop. It closes like sizzors so something gets squeezed through the opening. Any ideas?

"Me not kno, mon"! I do notice that the "spoon" & ring ends are riveted on, so that tells me that not much pressure is required. With that weakness pointed out, I think it is for a specialized use. Barber picking up hot towels for shaving ?
