Looking for some opinions here. Fond this in a very unlikely spot. A carved marriage spoon. Hoping that this is American....What do you all think? The type of chip carving and spoon form are appropriate, but I am not sure what type of wood is used here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping that the wood used to make the spoon in American....otherwise...probably a repro.
