A bud vase from Tsukiyono for Kurata Glass, contemporary, and designed by Shogo Saki.
I have found little info but it seems Saki is one of the current designers at Tsukiyono.
The box it came in and the front of the vase have been signed by him in texta, so he must be a bit of a pop star sort of creature.
I love his promo shot anyway!
Height: 10cm (4in)
Hmmm...well it is different that's for sure. Like a giant ice cube. The blue bit takes some getting used to. I'm sure there's a story behind this creative process. He does appear to have a bit of an ego..lol . :)
Looks rather like a kind of sculpture than a vase.
Just to compare some European ideas :

Love this!
I don't think it's side view is a particularly good look!!
Ego - where did you get that idea? laughing, thanks Mike.
I like it too Ken, front side on. Thanks for the love!
Ivonne I am more familiar with the Euro type of solifleur too, thanks for the links.
Marsberger is a new name to me, although I know Ritzenhoff of course.
I have seen something in a similar vein to this one but can't remember where.
It was Euro too I think. Thanks for your help and comments.
Thanks again VintageLamp!
