This pretty bowl came from an estate sale as part a large lot of other things. It was the last hour of the last day of an enormous estate sale, so everything was a good deal =) I bought it because it was beautiful, but i know nothing about it. It's about 4" tall and 5" wide.
There are two lines on the glass (pic 4) but they are not scratches. They look more like seams and seem to be glass defects made during production.
Can someone please identify a possible maker and age?
Thank you for any info on this.
*Title Updated (Thank you, TallCakes!)
Imperial Glass #499 'Smooth Rays' c1920s
TallCakes, thank you ever so much!
I googled this info further, and have a couple of questions. Is this color Iridescent Marygold or Rose Ice? Is this a compote or sherbet, or is it the same thing? Is it considered stretch glass, too?
Mikelv85, aura, Nicefice, Caperkid, Scott, Robin and Trey- thanks so much for the loves and stopping by! Much appreciated.
catalog calls the form a sherbet (which is basically a small compote or short champagne). The color from your pics look like marigold carnival glass to me; rose ice is described as pink crizzled on crystal glass, which typically falls in the stretch glass catagory.
Thank you, TallCakes!
Rick-thanks for stopping by and appreciation!
Nutsabotas, thank you for stopping by and the love it!
