I have had these earrings for a long time and never found another pair
like them. They are feldspar or unpolished moonstone. The findings
are gold. I think they are Victorian - about two inches in length. I love the whiteness and cat's eye effect of the stones.

Oh, thank you Wpj for posting your beautiful earrings !
I learned today moonstones and labradorite are feldspar family :-)
Feldspar was in high fashion in early Victorian era, the glow of it is very sweet!

Thanks for your comment. I learned today that there is a stone called Selenite
that is in this family too. I think these may actually be that. To me what makes these interesting is the cats eye and the fact they are not polished and have rough texture. I also have a drop necklace I recently found I will post that matches the
earrings. Never had seen these before. That seller was saying the necklace dated the late 1800's. Where did you read about Feldspar in the Victorian era? Would love to see more of this type of jewelry. It is fun to discover something new isn't it?

I've seen principally stanhope barrel shaped pieces in feldspar, but if you google images for Victorian feldspar, you'll see more!
I heard from it in books, but can't provide a link :-/
I think it is not polished due to the kind of fibreous texture, plus, the satin effect is very attractive!

The brooch on Ebay is beautiful. Love that. I will post my necklace tonight.
It is similar to that. Will google the images too. Thanks.
