HELP! I love to pick up items at Goodwill that look older and unique. I thoroughly enjoy the research in trying to identify backstamps and pattern names, etc. I have been researching this piece for months and cannot find anything even similar to the backstamp on this piece. Not sure if its Chinese or Japanese or if am even looking at it from the right direction. It would be great to know that brand or age or if it's a dollar store trinket donated to Goodwill as yard sale leftover. It has the peacock design that appears to be cloisonne, it is ivory with the crackle finish. There is a gold rim along the top of the vase and the backstamp is in a dark red color.
I recently came across what looks like a soap dish and I too have had no luck finding anything on it till I came across ur pic. The only difference is my piece maker mark is slightly different. It says Japan and has Japanese marking on it.
I just picked up a small vase with the exact same picture. There is a label over the bottom that says RAY Control Made in Japan. It also has a label Stone Mtn Park for $6.99. Hope this helps!
