This chair has been the family since my Dad bought it at auction about 1945. It was in bad shape and had to be refurbished. I have never seen anything that resembles it. Would like to know what it is, where it came from and possible value.

Thank you, I have had this chair in my possession since about 1994, but just recently started to wonder about it. The carving is so intricate and symmetrical. Can't imagine someone today doing this!

Do you happen to know where the auction was?

Hello. I have a very similar chair esp the very top round top. By the style of carving it is a French parlor chair possibly in walnut or cherry wood. If u can send me a pic of the legs and under the seat it would help me. In my opinion I think you may have a Louis. Email..vintagebyleryn@gmail.com
