    Hi,

This was given to me by my grandmother, I am not sure what it is but I am thinking it is a looming tool?

Can someone tell me about it please, thank you.

Yep, you're right. It's a looming toll; a bobbin shuttle.

Shuttles (buses, etc) are called so when they go the same route back and forth, like a looming shuttle.

Thanks, are these old or something that is still being used?

Is your grandmother Scandinavian? I recognized it from flea markets here in Sweden. It's a very common weaving shuttle here.

I guessed right! That makes sense. Not a weaver myself but I believe they're still being used.
