My father bought these while stationed in Germany at the end of the war. They are faceted glass with colors around the edges. They are not foiled on the back but refract as though they have foil. The earrings very much so the necklace not so much. I do not believe they are a matched set. The earrings are stamped 835 with the 3 backwards. They all have cracks where the colors meet the clear when you loupe them. The necklace heart is broken on the edge. They are very sparkley and festive.
Iris glass.
Ooh -pretty! 'Iris' glass! That's my thing I learned today. Never heard of it!
Looking on the net - they call it Rainbow Iris Glass the German one is called Rheinkiesel (or maybe that is the maker of this piece here?) OMG - this stuff is so PRETTY!
