Just recently acquired my Granny's lamp it had been paint with gold paint, which I stripped back. When lit it is a bright light nearly as good as electric lighting.
Patents look to be Jun 2.8.1892, they're on the wick winder.

Hi! that's a beautiful lamp, I have one similar but the stamp on it says may 21, 1895. I was wondering if you knew who the manufacturer was? I'm trying to do research on my lamp and I can't find anything but the symbol of what looks like either a snow flake or flower and the stamp on the wick winder. Any help would be appreciated.

apettit5 this is a Edward Miller brand, Connetticut, just search for miller lamps and you'll find information, yes the snow flake type symbol is common with these. although there is usually embossed writing on the lamp like "The Miller Lamp Made in the USA" these are usually center draft wick lamps. I love lamps my next one to buy is going to be a rise and fall hanging parlor lamp
