This little pot is 1.5 inches from the bottom to the top of the finial. The lid is part of of the design, so not a separate piece. There is a bit of damage around the base of the finial, but no matter to me. This little object could have a good deal of age. Interested to hear from those who know about these sorts of carved objects.
Thanks!
Beautiful little pot!
Right for bone, can be identified from the tiny black puncts, remains of the blood micro vessels irrigating the bone!
I think it is Indian, and rather old :-)
Thanks, Ken! The lid was the first thing I noticed. :-)
kyra - yes, I though as much, just needed to be sure. How much age would you give it?
I love this little guy Bonnie! The carver did an excellent job with the faux lid! A true piece of art!
Difficult to say, think at least vintage :-)
Tiny tiny little pot! Sweet find, Bonnie. :)
