I have a small collection of these Buckeye trucks. They are special to me because I grew up in Ohio, the Buckeye State, and then lived in Buckeye AZ.
These were originally Dunwell made trucks around 1954 thru 1955. They were then marketed by Frame Metal Products. Around 1959 Ohio Art started making them as buckeye truck by changing the grill, hub caps and printing "Buckeye Toys" on the tires.
They are about the size of Tonka trucks, this one is 13 inches long.
These are cool. Seen them on fleabay while searching the less known pressed steel toys. They have a great look about them and always catch my eye while scrolling through the listings. Haven't seen any up here in the great white north yet. Might not have been sold in Canada, so lets hope some kid picked one up on a vacation south years ago, and it is now hanging out in my local antique picking spot for an uneducated low price. Can always hope anyway.
