Hey my friends, Just me again. I recently bought this lamp because it was just to cool not to buy for the asking price. It is solid Brass, I assume that there was some type of metal used to turn the brass the brown color. It has these amazing 3d birds all over it. It is pretty heavy, much hevier then lets say a Steiff Lamp of similar dimensions. It stands fairly tall at 20" tall to the top of the lamp, under where the bulb would be. It has a center diameter of a tad over 10". It weighs 12 pounds. I know it used to not be a lamp as the brass piece that is now plugging the top of the vase is a different color brass and not really thick like the rest of the lamp. There are some solder marks here and there. I took the plug at the bottom out to see if I could make any sense of the makers mark, but you can see just as much with the plug in and the cord hanging out. I know from being here with you guys for over a month now that someone here knows something about this really cool, at the moment a lamp, but I know it used to be a vase.
HELP me with this one Gals, Guys. Where is SpiritBear? I know he knows something about this!
    Thanks as always guys, gals.

That is GORGEOUS! The most beautiful thing I've seen today. What a shame that some dimwit put the cord hole through the impressed maker's mark!!

After having to sign up and searching for your post I forgot what I wanted to tell you!

I have the very same design but not in brass. My lamp is ceramic and 30" to the top of the socket. When I found it in a charity shop, it had a soft gold/Florentine finish. Alas, it was the era of white gloss everything and so went the gold. I've almost finished knocking the gloss off. Much better.

How can I post pictures for you to see?
