I know this was my great great grandma's. Puts it between 120 and 150 years old. It is glass. But I still think it's cool! Just wish I could learn more about it! I love collecting old things, especially family heirlooms!
The wiring added to it was added before my grandma's time and the jeweler store said to leave it.
Thanks. I'm gonna have a chat with grandma!! See if it jogs her memory. I'll add if she remembers anything else.

So, I spoke w my grandma again (she lives w us) and she is positive her grandma (my great great) gave it to her with some old jewelry. I asked if her grandma was all there and she said she was... But I did explain the clasp. So, pretty but not as old as she was lead to believe.
There was a thread on CW yesterday that discussed these sort of stones, if I'm not mistaken. If I can find it again, I'll post it here. Lovely brooch!
