Literally my Great Grandfathers Clock. This mercury pendulum clock is inscribed, "Made by Gust Reitzen, Ashland, Pa. 1890. He (my great grandfather)was the local jeweler and apparently this was his shops regulator. It measures 68" x 26". Runs perfectly thanks to the local clock repair professional. The face appears hand painted in gold with black stenciled numerals. It has a second hand. I couldn't find any makers marks on the clock works. It would be nice to know if the clock works were factory made and by whom. Thanks in advance.

That's a high quality movement alright. What did the local clock professional think?

We could not find any company markings. The clock professional didn't commit to hand made or factory made. I thought maybe a kit. It has Jewelers rubies for the escapement. Factory? Kit? Upgraded in his shop? Still don't know.

Well, he was a Jeweler so given the right equipment he could have certainly been capable. It does look to be pretty well machined doesn't it? Wish I could help but I've never seen anything like it before. It's a beauty of a clock.
