Sandy Art Glass

This little gem is my only piece make with this type of material. The base is glass with a sandy texture and the top, which looks like an egg, is smooth with a small opening in the top. As you see it is about 2-3 inches tall and 1-1.5 inches wide. Another lucky find and I honestly cannot remember where I made the purchase. The two different looks make it a very lovely piece. I have seen something similar in texture, but nothing that compares completely to this piece. Again, not sure of date, origin, etc. Any hint is appreciated. A sweet piece of art glass, don't you think.
