My twin sister and I received these two cup back when we were about 8 years old from our step grandmother. Lets just say it wasn't what a little girls what for Christmas! lol They're a pretty color of teal. I was wandering how old these two cups are?

From the 1930's given that back stamp .... the design itself is very early Victorian. Retro in the 30's. LOL!!!

Thinking about it ... the design is even earlier .... Not Victorian but 18th century.

Looks like they just cut off the Hand Painted .... because it's transfer printed.

      so it's a fake?
    6. SpiritBear, 9 years ago
Not fake, just made in a different method. Transfer is, if I recall, engraving a block of metal, inking it, stamping it onto paper, wrapping the paper around an unfired clay object, baking it on, and then glazing over the dry product because the clay has absorbed the ink into it to make the image.
The technique is a few centuries old.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I do glass, not so much clay.
