From Murano and now Antique decanters. It is all absolutely a joy to collect. This red decanter was meant for me the first time I saw it in the store and walked away. I did not return to the store for nearly 3 weeks and the sixth sense, get it, get it, get it. And, now, boy I am glad. The grape design on it is beautiful. Measures the size of stand decanter 9-10 inches and there is a marking on bottom. I think it should have a stopper, but it works for me as it. Although. I have seen other colors on line, but not the RUBY/CRANBERRY.

This is Imperial Glass #473 and was called 'Niagara' in one early Imperial catalog; today the pattern is often called 'Vintage Grape'. The superimposed IG mark indicates this ruby vase was made after 1951 until about 1977. Imperial Glass used this same form as a decanter and a vase; the crimped lip is shown as a vase in one catalog.
