Vintage silver make up compact. Can anyone help me figure out what I have here?

I have a compact that is unused that I got from an estate sale. The box reads, "Plateria Sterki, Hotel Montejo, Reforma 240, Mexico D.F." I got a box of cigarettes cases and compacts at an estate sale and would greatly appreciate any info anyone could share on this. Thanks!
