(1 item)
Found this item in walls from old camp we are working on. It is hand made with brass and copper attached to the brass. The information is stamped on the copper. It appears to be a bottle opener and a letter opener. The copper plates are riveted to the brass.
On the front it says --------
"W.F. Altman Bottler of Schlitz Milwaukee Beer"
On the back it says ----------
"No80-82 Wilder Street Phones Bell 639 Main
Rochester 2277"
The history of the company dates back to 1898 when Anton V. Altmann founded a bottling works in Syracuse, NY. He operated it with his sons. Anton Jr., Theodore M. and William F. Altmann. This particular item is ties to William F. Altmann as the front side says W.F. Altman. Notice they have
eliminated one of the "N" in the name. The Altmann Bottling Co. did not survive the union labor disputes of the 1970's.
I'm looking to see if anybody has ever seen another and maybe help to pinpoint the time frame this was released.
