Both Signed by same artist, not able to decipher signature.
I purchased both of these at a flea market in Chase City, VA a couple years back.
Pic1&2 same painting-13x18
Pic 3&4 the same painting 9 1/2 x 11 1/2
The 3rd and 4th pic is of my favorite of the two because the paint is so thick it looks 3D and kinda like fat lava pottery
Looks like scenery of the Monument Valley (per my husband).
A region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 feet above the valley floor. Located on the Arizona-Utah state line near the Four Corners area. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation.
Added a couple of close ups of the two paintings.
I'm going through a lot of art and trying to decide what should stay or go....
These signatures are one of those that almost defy interpretation. I see a C then a second name that starts with H and perhaps another h in the middle and two o's before the last letter(s).
Katherine no luck w/signature finder, guess if I actually new the correct spelling it would work :(
is there a site where you can put an image/pic of signature? That would be awesome!
Thank you ;) for trying to help ;)
You could try Google image search with just the signature.
As for signaturefinder.com, the way it is useful to me in cases like this, is to try the letters I think I see and let it generate lists that I then check against the artist's work for a match.
wow!!! beautiful painting!!
