Not knowing alot about this piece but my estonian grandmother gave it to me, she told me it was from the baltic sea and highly valuable , ive weighed this necklace and it weighs 100 grams, measures 65cm in length , it also has a unique clasp .not sure if it is amber?
It could be amber. Not possible to identify it by photos because amber is very easily faked. You should take it to a reputable jewelry shop or a shop that deals specifically with gemstones and let someone there look at it.
The clasp is called a fishhook clasp. You squeeze the ends of the "U" and push it into the other end of the clasp until it clicks.

Great link Bonnie!
You know I'm fond of taste-testing, it can tell a lot. :-)
