      No marks usually means no gold. It's an unusual pin - have never seen a clasp like that. Take it to a jeweler and have it tested for gold.

      There IS a mark on the clasp! A close up will help. Gold for sure anyway!
      The "thing" on the needle has nothing to do with your brooch!
      It is a stick pin stopper :-)
