I inherited this lamp and have several photos of it in the home in the really early 1900's. The lamp is heavy, looks like iron and a large green stones at the mid area and bottom. The lamp is very ornate and been in my husbands family since the early 1900's or it may be later. I would love to know more about this piece and what the stone is on the lamp. The lamp shade is not the original.
I have had in storage many family heirlooms and now trying to photo and listed all that I know about them. My mother in law made me the guardian and I want to pass what I know to future generations.
1920's 30's . The stone is actually glass...most likely Houze Glass. Possibly uranium glass. Shine a poster blacklight on it to see if it glows. Beautiful piece !
I will get a blacklight and see if it glows. I will do some research on Houze Glass. Thanks for such a quick reply. This was my first post and greatly appreciate the information.
Wonderful lamp!
I am pretty sure it is jadeite. Type in jadeite lamp into a search engine and you should see several similar pieces.
Thank you for your comment I will look into both the Jadeite and Houze. The stone is very dark and will check out the blacklight that was recommended. I need to bring out of storage and put on the patio to enjoy. Thanks again.
