My husband brought home this wonderful old electric mixer that a buddy from work gave him. His buddy said that it has been kept in his basement for a long time and belonged to his mother. I was in awe at just how well the mixer has been kept - everything is there and when we plugged it in - purred like a kitten. The lable says it's a Whip King made by Middle Bury Electric Co in Table Grove, Illinois. The mixer came with a heavy white glass bowl - no markings that I can see and sits on the free-spinning turn table. It also has the beaters which do have some rust on them but not too much. Apart from what's on the lable, the rest is a mystery. I'd love to find out when this was made and possible value - although I'm in love with this piece and I'm not so sure I'd part with it - it just has a certain charm about it that takes me back to an old farm house with momma in an apron up at dawn whipping up biscuts for breakfast. I would love to find out more so if anyone out there has some information on my new favorite kitchen piece, please let me know.
