I found this wonderful large Early American style jewelry chest at Volunteer's of America a couple of weeks ago. It has six green velour lined drawers and two side wings that open with hooks for necklaces and bracelets. There are three drawers behind the top doors and then the three below that. One is set up for rings and the other two are sectioned. A real task to organize my horde but I'm trying. It didn't take long to fill up the drawers although I don't have a lot of necklaces for the side compartments. I tried to keep the best pieces for this chest but I have several other jewelry boxes and lots of individual boxes. There's a little bit of everything... Tiffany silver cuff links,Weiss, Kramer, Lisner, Sarah Cov.,and Eisenberg Ice (?) brooches and lots of unknowns as well. Part two to follow not enough room for the last two pictures. -Mike-

Thanks so much Peasejean...I think this chest might be from the Bombay Company. It didn't have any labels on it. They closed most of their store in our area years ago. They do still have a website though. The thrift stores get these occasionally but they're grabbed up quickly. Right place at the right time for this one ! :)

Thanks Bonnie... I think they are but not 100% sure though... they are all marked .925 sterling. I like the coral and turquoise one the best although it's missing one little bead.

Beautiful beginnings. Keep up the good work and posts. Enjoy them very much. Your need 1 more item to hit the 1000 mark. You might have to go "shopping". :)

Thank you everyone...Kyra, One, Rick, and Lisa for the "loves" and the nice comments. It's hard to believe I've acquired so much in just two years. It's great to be able to open a drawer and browse instead of hunting through a multitude of boxes, I really forget what I have unless it's right in front of me...lol. I could use a couple more of these ! @ Lisa...Oh yes, that large branch piece with the green stones is my absolute favorite too, but it's a tie now between it and the red Weiss piece next to it. No maker either and I'd really love to know !

What a fantastic post Mike. Great case you have now and so well organised.
I know we have seen many of these pieces but to see them set out like this is just glorious.

Thanks Karen )...it's great being organized and I tend to loose track of things once they're put away. Here it's all in plain site and I don't have to think so much...lol.
@ Ivonne...I'll give you a clue...it's an old Polish spell my mother gave me from her side of the family. ;)

Dzi?kuj? Ivonne :)...and that's the extent of my Polish via the internet...lol. Great Grandma spoke nothing but and refused to learn English. So fun as a kid listening to her and my Grandma argue back in the day. Wish they had passed the language along though. I'd love to have been bilingual.
