I believe strongly that this table was produced by Meek's & Sons: reason being, there is a labled tabled on a website that has the exact button feature, right below the drawers, that my table has. They are identical.
My table does not have the stenciled label that was used by Joseph Meek's after there warehouse burned down on vessel street. I believe my table predates the sons becoming part of the business. Infact, it may have been produced when Joseph Meek's was in business with his brother right at the turn of the century.
I cannot prove It: all I have are the initials written in on the bottom of both drawers. I have done exstensive research: the screws are very old, the hinges are hand forged, and draws are hand dove tailed.
This piece isn't one of Meek's overly decorated creations, that is why I think it's one of his first pieces of furniture when he began furniture making.
Very nice!!
Thank you Sean68!
Hard to tell much as the photos are a little grainy and don't show details.
Some additional photos would be helpful-- entire table, top/ bottom, drawer joint and hinges.
I'd be happy to provide some input once the photos are updated.
