Brlagniappe
(1 item)
I just saw one like this posted by PostCardCollector but smaller. I was hoping someone could tell both of us something about this unusual piece. The platter/wall hanging that I have measures 18" long by 14" wide at widest point. It looks to me to be in the shape of a shield. Mine has two holes on the back at the top I assume for hanging. It also has an impressed number 31 on the back and faint words that I can't make out. There are chips on back and front. They don't appear to be new chips.
The saying around the edge is "It is Pleasant to Labor for Those We Love". I have only seen this saying on pressed glagss pieces. I would love to know anything about this piece and the approximate age.
How interesting that you both have practically the same plate!
I am so glad I found another like the one I have. The only difference is in the size.
