UPDATE: Brad Keeler - marking as mystery solved, however, I am still looking to date the maker's mark; going to research more, but if anyone can pinpoint the date, I'd sure appreciate it!

OrigPost: The mark on this appears to be Brad Keeler (although it's very hard to make out). There is limited information on the internet about his work, or at least, what I could find basically is that this would not have been his typical style. Most of his work appeared to be animals, pink flamingos, swans, and lobster lettuce leaf stuff. This vase measures 10" and is extremely light for a ceramic piece (almost feather-weight, could it be porcelain?). It does have one little knick, as well as a repair but you can hardly detect it.

Looking for suggestions and/or any information that I can get -- e.g., if it is indeed, Brad Keeler, and date? (I know it had to be pre-1952 because he passed away that year); I have emailed his granddaughter's website as well.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Beautiful vase MyFav ...I have one of his flamingos which I posted ages ago. Poor guy has a broken and glued wing but there is still most of the original foil label on the base.

Definitely Keelers mark and looks consistent with his art ware line.

art.pottery, any way to narrow down the date of this mark? Any suggestions on where I can learn more about Brad Keeler (other than his granddaughter's website, it still seems to be a work in progress)? Thank you for the confirmation, I certainly appreciate it!

The granddaughter's website offers some good information but she doesn't seem to respond to emails. The range of production wasn't very long from what I gather, from just before the war to 1953. To narrow it down farther than that, you'd probably have to track down a catalog, archive, or reference book, try Amazon, or your local library? Beautiful vase, love Keeler, I own a piece myself! :)

Katherine, thanks! Mr. Keeler was born in 1913, so just guessing if he started at the age of 18 or so (even a younger age could be possible since his father was involved with ceramic also), I can at least narrow it down to 1931-1952, which I guess I should just be content with that; but I noticed some of his marks are different so I was hoping to narrow it down even more. I will follow your advice and try to find documented reference. Is your piece posted here? I'd love to see it. Thanks, as always, for your help and nice comments, always appreciated!
