OK so, I committed restoration heresy with this one... I pulled the original electric movement out of this and replaced it with a battery operated quartz movement. I know, I know... But look closely at that middle picture. No cord!!! Plus, on the older electrics, I don't trust em. I feel like they're a fire hazard. Anyway, I've been doing some reading about this clock and evidently it was a popular carnival prize. Something you had to do almost the impossible to win. We live just outside of a major seaside resort with two and a half miles of boardwalk and dozens of carnival style games to play... This was originally my wife's 90 year old mothers...and she has no memory of how they came by it. I'm thinking my father in law won it on the boardwalk at a shooting gallery. He was a crack shot and actually once owed a .22 rifle that came from one of the boardwalks many shooting galleries. Back in the day then used .22 rifles... Can you imagine what might happen today if they still did???
toolate2 , im so glad youre here !! missed ya !! nice clock!!
Cool clock :)...better to be cautious. Not a problem with the movement just hang on to it unless you ever plan on selling it.
Great clock and looks like you did a great job converting it. Glad to have you back again at CW!!
