As this was made around 1920 it is not officially an antique but it is close enough. Plus it has the archaic look of antique.
Unlike the flat scales that followed this one is a bit over 8 inches tall. Best to have a good sense of balance before climbing up on this.
As it is made of cast iron it is a bit heavy and weighs over 18 pounds. The zero control is on the front side and is helpful as it does have a slight problem returning to zero. Still it is fairly accurate enough for home use but of course not legal for sale or trade.
Coool! And dangerous, as you said ;-)
Very cool Fort! Any thoughts on having it restored?
My ex wife stepped on one of these and the scale said; One at a time Please. Hehehehe!
Thank you very much Thomas. Me either.
Thank you very much kyratango. It goes down when you stand on it so best to have something to hold on to.
Thank you very much Rick. I may remove the black paint. I was originally green.
Thank you very much fhrjr2. If your wife reads this it is couch city for you.

Have the same one in great condition, use it all the time...with caution!
Thank you very much Moonhill. Mine isn't in great condition but it works.
Gee that is Great!! wonder if the scale could have been used for other than standing....Like to weigh a baby? Or to weight grain or something like from a country store or something? Just wondering.......??
Just seems ~ SO ~ high to step on.......LOL...at least to me. It would be scary
More info. on the scale... called..Health-O-Meter, Continental Scale Works, Chicago,Ill. pat'd 1917-June1921, not legal for trade.
Thank you very much antiquerose. It is indeed a bathroom scale and goes up to 240 pounds.
Moonhill this is almost exactly the same as the Health-O-Meter. But this is the Detecto Junior made by the Jacob Bros Company and has a patent date of 1917 also. The Health-O-Meter has more detail on the front and sides especially the corners. The Deteco just has slab sides.
Thank you
