A side-by-side comparison of two Loetz "Coppelia" vases from my ever growing Loetz collection. These represent both color variations of Loetz Coppelia decor, Weiss Coppelia and Gelb Coppelia. Both are in excellent condition.
1) Clear ground (Weiss Coppelia) with 4 dark green trefoil tadpole prunts and applied green rim. 6.5" tall. 4.25" widest width. Ground and polished pontil. PN II-1746. Acquired from a CW glass friend. Thank you, DS!
2) Greenish yellow ground (Gelb Coppelia) with 6 Candia Silberiris trefoil tadpole prunts of alternating lengths. 6.75" tall. 6.75" widest width. Fire polished rim with ground and polished pontil. Highly reactive under UV light. PN II-1898. Acquired at auction.
Both color variations are attractive, but I'm partial to the iridescence of the one with Green Yellow Ground and Candia Silberis prunts.
You're welcome John, looks great with the other Coppelia!
