The long awaited wood Bissell's Sweeper circa 1899Dating this at 1899 as I found an old add online for one from 1899. Unlike later Bissell sweepers this one has a brass frame on the sides. Also others are marked "Grand Rapids". This one is "Frederick & Nelson" with "Seattle Wash" below.
I am thinking this one predates the more common Grand Rapids version.
This will come in handy with the two fluffy back cats leaving bits of fur here and there.
Very cool! The vacuum cleaner of yesteryear.
Aaah! I didn't know these evil things were made so early!
They catch a plush at first passage, then spit others at second one ;-))
Joke apart, great catch, Fort!
Thank you very much again Scott.
Thank you very much kyratango. I didn't know either until I researched it.

Wow -- That IS a Grand Carpet sweeper!!
Love the brass frame casting on the sides -- and it still works !! Not like stuff made today....
@ LISA
lol.....and let me guess....one is an electrolux, and another is a Filter Queen....?? or one could also be the mid modern styled COMPACT vacuum.
Wonderful find Fort... I love it!
Thank you very much for the compliment antiquerose.
