I purchase this vase because I thought it was beautiful. I have seen similar vases online that are antiques from China. I would love to know more about this lovely piece. It seems to be made of either porcelain or ceramic, overlaid with enamel. It looks like some of the designs are outlined with real gold. This Base measures 2 feet from top to bottom without the base. With the base and measures 31.5 inches. At the top of the bottleneck it measures and at the widest area of the bulbous bottom, it measures about 16 inches in diameter. If any of you know anything about it feel free to comment. I look forward to hearing from some of you and I thank you in advance for any information you can share with me.

If there is a mark on the bottom of the vase a photo of that might help identify it. You can replace one of your photos by using the edit function on the left.

There is no mark on the bottom or anywhere else that I could find after inspecting this vase very carefully. I will, however, get a picture of the bottom of it later today and post it. Thank you for your input.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering i if commenting here would bring my mystery back to the Forefront. I still haven't got an answer as to what exactly this is. I have never seen one quite like it either. I was hoping that maybe some newer members might know something. Does anyone have any advice for me regarding this beautiful vase?

As Vetraio stated, this is an Imari vase. i think it's mid-century - to the end of the 20th century - so not too old. it's still nice though. without a photo of the base - whether there is a mark or not - we can't tell you a whole lot more.

I was going to post a picture of the bottom of this vase, but I can't figure out how to post a picture. Is there a way I can post a picture in place of some that are already up?

go to edit in the left hand column. delete one of the photos - the wooden base would be a good one to delete and then add the photo.
