I picked up this interesting floral painting from Salvation this morning. An impressionistic bouquet of pink peonies in full bloom. Kind of appropriate with Spring being just around the corner. I found it tucked into a plastic bin with a few other smaller framed pictures It's painted on an 18" x 24" "Master Panel" Belgian Linen canvas board. It has a few dents and dings one of which has obscured part of the signature. I don't think it would matter even if it wasn't as it's still mostly illegible. The date appears to read 1948. Finding a nice new frame should be fairly easy as this size is pretty standard. -Mike-

Oh I'm sure.... if I don't already have one in my "stacks" which is quite likely. I will post it when it's complete. Peonies by any other name would......lol

Thanks so much thgatherer :)....I found that ants love them too. Cut a bunch and brought them in the house. Put them in a vase and a half hour later the table was covered in ants ! I later learned they love the sweet sap that peonies produce. Always check them now...lesson learned...lol .
Oh yes, then there's the ants, lol, can't have it all.
Still love them and always will. The painting is beautiful
and I would have bought if it would have been my find.
My passion is thrift shops and now estate sales, always gathering. ;)
I see you're from Ohio. You're the third person here on CW that I've seen from our home state beside Ken "nutsabotas6" he's from the Cleveland area. Most everyone else is out of state along with Canada, Europe and Australia. Lots of great folks here on CW. I've been here three years myself. Love peonies, they are my fav flowers, but... not the ants which go with them, lol!
Thanks Kyra...once you've gotten a table full you learn to cut them and leave them outside for a while. They tend to abandon ship for some reason. I just got back from my rounds. A frame for this painting was high on my list but no luck today.....Oh well there's always tomorrow. :)

Thanks so much Alan :)... Yes this Salvation is quite nice and it's my favorite ever since it opened about two years ago. Made some good friends there and they always keep a look out for me for the things I like most....which is pretty much everything..lol.
