I have a pair of these, my great uncle gave them to my Mom, he went to auctions as a hobby. Never found out the story behind them as both people have passed
When my father passed, an appraiser came to the farm, he saw the chairs and said "I have been doing this for 45 years and I have never seen a pair like this"
These are nice and you've kept them in great condition. Most times the weaving comes undone or breaks. I'm thinking these may be from the 30's. Just a guess. But hey, we've got a secret for you...turn the chairs upside down and look for the label. It might just be there ;)
Thanks But I have looked them over many times in hope of I had missed somethijhng
Looks to me like a Hunzinger chair. Usually well marked. Paper labels, but also stamped into the wood. Nice !
Thanks SJ
Only thing stamped on the underside is 10
Thanks for the comment
