Anyone know anything about this lamp that has been in the family for years? It is definitely brass. About 18 years ago I had a devil of a time finding the appropriate fitted lamp shade and it was expensive. The material is now tearing from I think is the heat of the bulb. At first I was going to get rid of it but I'm thinking I better hold on until I have an idea of the value. Thanks!!!!
Lots of them appear on auction site, though usually they had an arm extended out. I love the finial on yours, its a lamp top seen very rarely. Look at auctions eg/ebay
and standing lamp or floor lamp.
